Sporting icons including Virender Sehwag and Mary Kom to run.

On the occasion of Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) 75 years of its raising, top Indian sportspersons including, cricketer Virender Sehwag and boxer Mary Kom will be running a marathon ‘Run for Unity’. The paramilitary force will conduct a half-marathon in New Delhi on October 12.

Apart from Sehwag and champion boxer Mary Kom, about 3 lakh personnel force would be getting in touch with a host of sportspersons and celebrities to take the track in solidarity with the trooper on ground and its martyrs.

The Central Reserve Police Force also known as CRPF is the largest of India’s Central Armed Police Forces. The CRPF’s primary role lies in assisting the State/Union Territories in police operations to maintain law and order and contain insurgency.
