The running icon of India and an Ironman, Milind has become the face of running in the country today and he is doing his bit to make running a popular sport in the country. The 50 years old ironman triathlon finisher is running barefoot from Ahmadabad to Mumbai to popularize the benefit of running for fitness and help it becoming a popular sport in the country.

His run is a part of the Great India Run initiative which is a multi-city ultra-marathon starting from New Delhi and ending in Mumbai, covering a distance of 1480 km. Milind Soman has joined the Ahmedabad-Mumbai leg of the marathon which is  about 570 km in distance. Milind started his run on 26th July and now he is about 200 kms from reaching Mumbai.

To remind everyone how much enduring completing Ironman triathlon is, Milind completed a 3.86 km swim, 180.25 km bike ride and a 42.20 km run in 15 hours 19 minutes.

Wishing Milind all the luck for this endeavour towards making running a popular sports in India.
