How to Detox the Body after the Festivities

Festivals are a perfect time to indulge in scrumptious delicacies. But soon after these festivals are over, one thing that we dread is the weight gained or toxins accumulated during this time. Now that the festivities are over, it probably is the right time that your body needs a detox or a cleanup.

It is extremely important to create a good detox plan that naturally cleanses the system and allows the body to get rid of toxic by-products and chemicals. It is important to flush out the harmful products from our system on a regular basis for the body’s overall wellness. Our body needs the right nutrition for cleansing. Let us discuss how to detox the body:

Water is the best therapy

Begin your day by drinking lukewarm water. For better results, squeeze half a lemon in the water. Another alternative is to drink herb tea or green tea as is a great way to detox and cleanse your system. Also, make it a point to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.

No more Sweets

Stay away from any food that contains sucrose, artificial sweeteners or high fructose corn syrup. Ice creams, cold drinks or other sugar-laden foods must be avoided.

Make sure that you eat home-cooked food. Food from the restaurant is loaded with salt, oil, starch and sugar hence are not at all healthy. Rather than ordering from outside, try and prepare a nourishing meal at home.
